Timeout during copy from Server to LTO

I'm receiving a GetQueuedCompletionStatus timeout on certain files when copying from a server over SMB to an LTO tape drive. I'm fairly certain, if it could just wait a bit longer (or indefinitely I would be fine with) the tape drive or server to catch up.
