Make TeraCopy work with Phones/Cameras

Since upgrading to Windows 10 TeraCopy can no longer see iPhones; I assume the same will be true for Androids and digital cameras that no longer get a drive letter assigned.

This is really annoying since this is typically the biggest copy operation I do.

Duplicates 5
Copying to and from Smartphones
Suggestion that it works. I'm draggin files. It's doing nothing. Trying to backup my phone to windows 10.
Suggest it work. Hey, when I select a folder, it just opens it. It wont let me SELECT the folder as the source. From a phone to Window s10.
copying from mtp file systems does not work with teracopy

hi,

I noticed that whenever I copy files from my android mobile to windows PC hard disk then teracopy is not used even though it is default for all windows copy operations .

You can confirm this at your end .

Please let me know how that goes.

The best thing about teracopy is that it can go on even when a file in a list fails due to any reason.

The log it shows of the copy operation is a source of satisfaction.

Thanks.

transfer to mobile(media device)

it's good to transfer the files to android devices as we have to use only explorer to transfer files to devices which is slow compared to teracopy

I have received the same error. If Teracopy can implement a better version of MTP copying or moving ,it would bring many photographers or other business type clients to teracopy (provided they MAKE SURE that MTP implementation works and is reliable)

In all fairness,  I think the devs have a point, those wanting that functionality can buy mtpdrive,or the demo version may work for some. . Or if you want, AndroidDrive does the same thing using ADB. Once it's mounted as a drive, it works with teracopy

Please note that I have tried even with 'TeraCopy 3.5 beta 2' in which I selected source files from my mobile. Files got added to list but copying gave same error for all files namely 'Error opening source file: the system cannot find the file specified . code 2' .

Thanks.

As a Pro user, I'd _happily_ even pay another 5 or 10 bucks if this would be implemented.

Done as a plugin, future monetization (of the Pro version) would be possible and honor the development costs such a feature caused.

What about implementing it but making it a pro feature only?

I tried MPT Drive, and it costs more than Teracopy, plus its interface is awful (now that we are talking about interfaces, maybe a face lift for teracopy? )

Thanks

In this mobile-first world, it might make sense to add error-checking around MTP, to recommend that users use an appropriate product.

This is a huge missing feature. The copy tools available right now for PTP/MTP are awful. It's definitely more work, but it's still in scope from the user's perspective. Is this coming in the new version at least?

Love TC, but hHow is this out of scope?  Its copying files in Windows.  We're basically asking that you offer a complete modern solution.  Nowhere on

http://codesector.com/teracopy do you say 'excluding storage accessible only by MTP' or anything to that effect.

In todays mobile ridden world thats a pretty crucial distinction, not something to hide away in a FAQ or support article.

Also, you don't even mention this in your FAQ!

I don't think you have to re-create the whole $40 software product that creates drives for other programs. Just maybe the same pieces of MTP that the free SafeCopyFree does? It can copy from MTP sources. Unfortunately it only copies whole folders at a time and not single files.
