Is Testing after Copying necessary?

Hi,

I bought an external HDD and I just copied almost 1TB of data to it. After the copying, TeraCopy started to perform a "Test". Since this test is supposed to take around 2 days, I would like to know if this test is really necessary!? I would think not, because the files have been already verified during the copying process. That said, I really know nothing about this stuff and I simply take an "educated guess" on whats going on, ha ha.

Thanks.

Not found very frecuently but every now and then I find corrupted files when writing on some devices.

If managing critical data it is totally necessary.

If you blindly trust on your devices and think you're not going to find a weak sector on an HDD, then you can bypass verification.

It's up to everyone to decide how important the data is managing it is.

Yeah, that makes sense... Thanks for the reply!
