Teracopy Crashes Windows 11 2H2 Moment 4

Hi everyone.

I have the latest build of Teracopy on my desktop PC running Windows 11 (22621.2428). Also known as moment 4. When I try to copy/cut and paste explorer crashes. On my laptop, it works fine.

I was running the latest build of Teracopy.

Any ideas?

I reset Windows 11 and now it seems to work fine. Also as a side effect, my PC is much snappier.

Have had problems after Win 11 update in october ver 22H2 Build 22621.2428, I had problems that Teracopy "hangs" and nothing happens, I have to force close Teracopy in the activity manager.

I am going to update windows to ver 23H2 and see if Teracopy works OK with that.

That didn't help, unfortunately.

There are reports of many issues with the Windows 11 October update, involving explorer. I bet it's related to that. I will wait for Microsoft to issue another update and try reinstalling Teracopy.

Thanks for your help :)

Have the same problems under Windows 11 23H2 Build 22635.2552!

It will surely be due to a Windows update, because before it had worked without any problems.

I am now away from Teracopy and wait until a fix comes!

As I noted, I have no issues with it. Wonder if it is a setting in Explorer, or just something bad with the integration - do you have TeraCopy set to be the default file copier always? On my system, it always asks whether I want to use Explorer or TeraCopy to transfer the file(s), and I like having the option.

Also, maybe you could try some Microsoft commands to clean up the image on your PC. I usually run this as a batch file after updates, but I'll post the contents here so you can copy to a text file, rename as .bat and run it on your machine.

The commands are:

start /B /wait rundll32.exe pnpclean.dll,RunDLL_PnpClean /drivers/maxclean
start /B /wait dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
start /B /wait sfc /scannow
start /B /wait dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
start /B /wait dism /online /Cleanup-Image /Startcomponentcleanup /resetbase

Copy all the lines with start at the beginning, paste into Notepad, and save (if you change the file type to All files, you can save it as a batch file directly). I named my file `Post_WU_Cleanup.bat`.

Now, open cmd.exe as administrator and run that batch file. Good idea if you close all your running apps, as much as possible, and then reboot after all steps are complete.

Is there anything we can do to rectify this problem? I rely on Teracopy to move large files around. Windows explorer is useless.

Thanks

Explorer still crashes.

Odd. I'm using it without issues daily.

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling?
